Chelsea Ready to Cash in on Costa

The Sun newspaper is reporting that Chelsea are ready to offload striker Diego Costa this summer and will use his sale to fund a move for Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata.

The Brazilian agitated to leave the club for China in January, before manager Antonio Conte persuaded him to stay until the end of the season at least. It is believed that the club are resigned to losing him in the summer.

Earlier in the season, Costa admitted that a failure to settle in London almost resulted in a move back to his former club Atletico Madrid last summer. The Sun reports that Real Madrid will move for Costa, with Alvaro Morata moving in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, ex-Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is refusing to sign a new deal at Everton, putting Europe’s big clubs on alert. Lukaku is seen as the direct, physical replacement needed for Costa to lead the line for the Blues.
