According to French radio station RMC Sport, Brazil midfielder Paulinho has emerged as a shock target for Bayern Munich. Paulinho moved from Corinthians to Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, but endured a miserable two years in London.
He has since moved to Gangzhou Evergrande in China. But he has reappeared on the radar with his recent performances for Brazil. Paulinho was a surprise call into the Seleção squad under Tite, with whom he worked at Corinthians with such distinction.
Paulinho was on the scoresheet against Argentina in Belo Horizonte in November, before bagging a hat trick in Montevideo against Uruguay last month. His exploits for his national team have reportedly alerted Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti.
Paulinho would be viewed as competition for Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal at Bayern and RMC reports that the Bavarian giants are keen to tempt Paulinho away from China for another crack at Europe. He also had spells in Lithuania and Poland earlier in his career.
