Early Life and Youth Career

Givanildo Vieira de Sousa, known as Hulk, was born on July 25, 1986, in Campina Grande, Brazil. He began his youth career at Serrano-PB and went through several clubs, including Campinense, Vilanovense, São Paulo, and Vitória.

Professional Club Career

Vitória

Hulk started his professional career with Vitória in 2004 but made only 2 appearances before moving to Japan.

Japan: Kawasaki Frontale, Consadole Sapporo, and Tokyo Verdy

Hulk played in Japan for three years, initially joining Kawasaki Frontale. He was loaned to Consadole Sapporo, where he scored 26 goals in 41 matches. Later, he joined Tokyo Verdy on loan and scored 37 goals in 42 matches, becoming the top scorer of the season.

Porto

In 2008, Hulk moved to Porto, where he spent four successful seasons. He won ten titles, including the 2010-11 UEFA Europa League and three Primeira Liga championships. Hulk was the league's top scorer in the 2010-11 season. Porto purchased 85% of his playing rights for a total of €13.5 million.

Zenit Saint Petersburg

In September 2012, Hulk transferred to Zenit Saint Petersburg for €60 million. He won all three domestic honors with Zenit and was named the Russian Premier League's best player and top scorer.

Shanghai SIPG

In June 2016, Hulk joined Shanghai SIPG for an Asian record €58.6 million. He made 145 appearances, scoring 77 goals, and helped the club win the Chinese Super League in 2018 and the Chinese FA Super Cup in 2019.

Atlético Mineiro

In January 2021, Hulk returned to Brazil, signing with Atlético Mineiro. He played a crucial role in the club's success, helping them win the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Copa do Brasil, and Campeonato Mineiro. Hulk was the top scorer in the Série A and Copa do Brasil in 2021.

International Career

Hulk made his international debut for Brazil in 2009. He represented Brazil at the 2012 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal. He was also part of the team that won the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and played in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
