Globo Esporte reports that Liverpool have made an offer for 16 year old Santos striker Rodrygo. The São Paulo club is renowned for the quality of its attacking talent. having produced the likes of Neymar, Gabigol and, once upon a time, Pele.
The teenager is reportedly in no hurry to leave Santos yet and wishes to establish himself as a first team player with O Peixe, but contact from Liverpool has caused the Brazilian club to consider a new contract offer for the hotly tipped young striker.
Liverpool already have Coutinho, Firmino and Lucas Leiva on their books, as well as 19 year old Allan, currently on loan at Hertha Berlin. Santos were said to be relaxed when Rodrygo's family approached them for a professional contract a few months ago, but Liverpool's interest has fired them into action.
Rodrygo is considered the star of Santos' academy and it is expected that coach Dorival Junior will slowly blend him into the team during the second half of 2017. But if Globo is to be believed, Liverpool are prepared to test their resolve.
