Barcelona and Brazil legend Ronaldinho Gaucho thinks that Neymar has reached the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Speaking at a promotional event in Dubai, Ronaldinho suggested it was a matter of time before Neymar won the Ballon D’or.
Ronaldo and Mesis have split the award between them since 2008, but following his heroics in the Champions League against Paris Saint Germain, the 36 year old believes that his friend is well placed for the next award.
“Neymar is a great friend and today he is the greatest idol in Brazil. He is already on the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi and we really hope that one day he can get the Ballon D’or, pursuing his success. But he is already among the best and it is only a matter of time,” said the two time Ballon D’or winner.
However, he refused to be drawn on comparisons between the Barca team he played in, that won the Champions League in 2006, and the current incarnation, “I never liked comparisons, we were a great team with great players and people and today's team also has a great team with great players and individuals.”
